Our Policies

Be informed and enjoy your vacation. Please read the terms & conditions carefully. You will be required to sign this indicating your understanding.

Payments

Reservations & payments may be made by cash, debit, money order or any major credit card. Please do not send cash by mail. Reservations made with invalid or declined credit cards are subject to cancellation without notification. To receive any promotional pricing you must make a full payment at time of booking.

Rentals

When making a reservation, there is minimum deposit of $500 required. Reservations made by deposit are subject to a $25 administration fee. The balance will be charged automatically 28 days prior to arrival. You may also make a reservation by paying in full at the time of booking, saving the $25 administration fee.

RV & Tent Sites

When making a reservation for either a tent or RV site you may pay in full, or reserve by paying the $100.00 deposit required. Reservations made by deposit are subject to a $25 administration fee. The balance will be charged automatically 28 days prior to arrival.

Cancellations

Rentals and RV/Tent Sites: If we receive notification of cancellation a minimum of 28 days prior to your arrival date, we will refund all monies paid less a $50 cancellation fee. If we receive notification of cancellation anytime between 28 days up to 7 days a voucher will be provided for the full amount paid towards another vacation to be used either in the current season or the following season. If we receive a notification of cancellation within the 7 days of the arrival date or if the vacation has commenced there will be no refund provided.

Arrivals & Departures

Check in time for all homes is 4pm, campsites 12pm. Have only one member of your party check your group in. Early check ins will not be permitted, unless you have purchased a Premium Package, entitling you to a 2pm check in.

Check out time for all camp/RV sites is 11AM, Rental Homes is 10AM. **A full day's rate will be applied to late check outs**

Rental Security & Key Deposits

All summer home reservations will have a $50.00 key deposit added to them. This will be refunded when you check out and return the keys to the home directly to the office.

A $300.00 security deposit will be processed just prior to your check in time. This amount will be reserved as a pre-authorization only on a major credit card. This will be placed on the same card used for your holiday booking. Please make arrangements with our reservation team if you want a different card used. Once the home has been inspected and found to be in the same condition as arrival the credit card information will be released. Any damage will be assessed and charged accordingly to your credit card. An extra charge will be added to your credit card for any home needing excessive cleaning.

Smoking

Absolutely all of our homes are non smoking. Smoking is permitted outside the home only. A violation of this policy will result in an automatic deodorizing fee of $300.00 being applied against your security deposit.

Pets

Sherkston is a family resort and therefore carefully "breed specific" when making the decision of allowing pets into the Park. Please check with a reservation team member for more information.

Only homes owned by the Park are designated as "pet friendly". Please advise our reservation team at time of booking if you are bringing your pet. An automatic $69.00 pet fee will be applied to your reservation for steam cleaning the home upon departure.

Pets & Camp/RV Sites

Certain breeds of dogs are welcome on your camp/RV site as long as they are leashed at all times. **Dogs are permitted on the lakefront beaches between the hours of 8pm and 8am only. Dogs are not permitted on Quarry Beach at any time.

Firewood

The Ontario Ministry has enforced regulations preventing fire wood to be transported into our Resort. Sherkston Shores offers a full fire wood service including delivery. By signing these terms and conditions you are confirming NO outside firewood has been brought into this Resort.

Discounts and Special Offers

Special offers and discounts are not valid on holiday long weekends throughout the season.

Site Selection

Site locations and bed configurations are on a "request only" basis and are subject to availability at time of check in. Should a site change be necessary, we will guarantee the same site type equivalent or better. If we are unable to provide the above, a full refund will be issued.

Children & Youth

Sherkston Shores is a Family Resort which welcomes children of all ages. Children and youth under the age of 18 are permitted on property with adequate adult supervision only.

We will not take bookings from individuals under the age of 25 years of age. Sherkston reserves the right to terminate a booked holiday if any stated rules are in violation. No refunds or return vouchers will be issued.

Guests

Individuals renting a summer home for a week will be entitled to 2 complimentary car load passes. No passes will be issued for camping guests. Visitors are welcome to visit the park until 10pm.

All guests are subject to the rules and regulations of the Resort, the registered site/home will be held responsible and accountable for your guest's actions.

Rules & Regulations

While visiting the Resort you are responsible for abiding by all Resort rules and regulations. Non compliance may result in your eviction from the Park. Should this happen no refunds will be issued. Under no circumstances will Sherkston Shores be liable for any loss or damage to any of our guest's personal property, including their vehicles, jewellery, personal effects or any other valuables including currency. Parents are responsible for the care and actions of their children at all times. All customers and guest using Sherkston Shores facilities do so at their own risk.

Alcohol and glass containers are not permitted on the beach. Glass containers are not permitted at campsites at any time.

Boats / Watercraft / Golf Carts

Boats or watercraft with motors over 3hp require proof of insurance of 1 million Canadian or $300000.00 US. Golf Carts must be electric and meet the same insurance requirements as above. Failure to meet the above requirements will result in the boat/golf cart being denied entry into the park.

RV & Camp Sites

Camping and RV site prices are for 2 adults and 4 children. Additional charges will apply for more than 2 adults per site, $30.00 per adult (max 4 adults per site, max total of 6 people per site). Each site can hold a maximum of 2 six man tents. Car passes must be displayed at all times in the front window of your vehicle.

Summer Home Inventory

All summer homes come equipped with Colour TV's, fully equipped kitchens, bath and/or showers, various ranges of bed configurations and sizes, outdoor fire pit. They do not have BBQ's, VCR's, towels or linens. Linens can be purchased prior to arrival for $29.95.

Amenities / Facilities

Please remember that all amenities are on a seasonal, weather dependent schedule. The entertainment complex/pools and restaurants are on a full schedule throughout July/August. Limited hours of operation of facilities and services are available in the spring and fall. We reserve the right to close any facilities due to weather conditions or for Health and Safety reasons without prior notice.

Occupancy

All summer homes have a maximum of 6 persons per home. You MAY NOT occupy a home if your group exceeds 6 (including children). Parties exceeding 6 risk being expelled from the park. No refunds or vouchers will be issued. You will be allowed two cars per site. Each car must display a car pass in the window at all times.

Wildlife

Because Sherkston Shores is largely wooded therefore we share our resort with Raccoons and Skunks, please ensure that rubbish and other food items are placed in the bin bays provided.

 

Please Note:

 

It is your responsibility to ensure that your summer home is left in the same shape as when you arrived, tidy, clean and with all garbage removed.

Summer homes are occasionally listed for sale, in which case it may be viewed by appointment during your stay. No additional guests, except those listed on your reservation can occupy the premises.
